The underground Salt Cathedral, situated 17.4 miles north of Bogota, is known as the first wonder of Colombia. The Cathedral, as well as its sculptures, was built out of minerals and rocks (such as marble) within the salt mines. It is considered a modern architectural jewel, place of worship and cultural sanctuary worldwide.
